The Travelling ManThe Travelling Man Resumes

Westbury's Australian Listed winning graduate will look to resume this weekend when lining up in tomorrow's Natalie Hunter 2YO Handicap over 1000m at Caulfield tomorrow.

By Vinery based sire Mossman, The Travelling Man (pictured) was purchased by his trainer, Matt Laurie, for $80,000 at the 2011 Karaka Yearling sales - sold on account of Westbury Stud.

The Travelling man has had three starts to the track including a first up fourth in black-type company when running a gallant race in the Listed Debutant Stakes in October last year.

Following his efforts on debut, The Travelling Man lived up to expectations in his second-up run when claiming honours in the Listed Blue Diamond Preview, and winning well placing a 1 ½ length margin between the next runner.

Having not much luck next start in the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes, Laurie was keen to look after the gelding and opted to turn him out and give him the opportunity to develop and mature.

The Travelling Man has an interesting field to contest tomorrow including a few debutants, although there will be no surprises should the juvenile gelding deliver a bold performance.

Gypsy Jewels currently has a cracking Swiss Ace colt that will be offered at the 2013 Karaka Yearling Sales next January, and the stakes producing mare will be mated again this season with Westbury's Group 1 winning sprinter Swiss Ace.

Swiss Ace stands for $10,000 + GST at Westbury Stud with no fee payable until 1 June 2013
