Perpetual JoyancePerpetual Joyance Caps Off Great Day at Sha Tin

The John Size trained Perpetual Joyance (Red Giant) could not have been more impressive as he came from a hopeless position at the 300m mark to race away and win the HK$1,860,000 Po Yan Handicap over 1200m.

Run off his feet early, Perpetual Joyance settled back in the field under Olivier Doleuze and came off heels at the 200m mark to unleash a powerful finish and blaze past the leaders in excellent style. Perpetual Joyance has won 7 of his 25 starts and recorded a further 5 seconds, while Saturday’s win sees the Red Giant gelding take his stake earnings past the HK$6.9 million mark, and the overall time of 1:08.72 was smart indeed.

Perpetual Joyance is out of the Danehill mare Make Me Strong who is a half-sister to Group 1 placed Show of Force (dam of dual Group 1 winner Atomic Force) while Make Me Strong’s daughter Megara is the dam of stakes winning sprinter Red Striker. Make Me Strong has a positive test to Swiss Ace.
