Another Good Weekend for Swiss Ace9 Apr 2018
Swiss Ace has been having a wonderful run of late, and this weekend proved to be no exception, with a further three winners over the last three days. The speedy My Horse was the first to grace the winner’s circle when he led throughout to score a very good win at Kranji on Friday evening. By Swiss Ace from the Danehill mare Rosenborg, My Horse has been very consistent recording 4 wins and 6 seconds from 22 starts with stakes of S$210,000 to date and looks assured to add to his record for trainer HW Tan.
The second winner for Swiss Ace over the weekend came when Upperhand blitzed his rivals in a fresh state at Riccarton. Trained (and part-owned) by Brian Court, Upperhand had not run since being unplaced in the NZ 2000 Guineas Gr.1 in November, but when unleashed by Chris Johnson, he reeled in the leaders quickly and went on for a most impressive win. Connections intend returning to Riccarton in two weeks and all going well Upperhand could have a Brisbane campaign on his agenda for the winter.
The third winner for Swiss Ace over the weekend came when Richard Yuill’s juvenile Kailani Sunset was too professional for her rivals when she resumed at Counties on Sunday. Having had two runs in the spring, the speedy filly began brilliantly for Sam Spratt and showed too much ‘toe’ for her opposition as she fought off her rivals.
Another Swiss Ace to perform well on Saturday was the mare Hatton Garden who has shown well above average ability with two wins from her first three starts, and stepping to Rating 75 grade at just her fourth career start she ran extremely well to finish second in the last a Te Aroha on Breeder’s Stakes Day.
