Reliable DameReliable Man Fillies Tackle Adelaide Group Race

Reliable Man’s daughters Belle du Nord and Reliable Dame will provide their sire with a two-pronged attack on the Group 3 Schweppervescence Stakes at Morphettville tomorrow.

Trained by David and Emmalee Browne, Belle du Nord had her first Australian start two weeks ago after an unlucky run of form in New Zealand, and was seen to be running home nicely for fifth in the Listed Laelia Stakes over the 1600m. Belle du Nord will not lack on the score of fitness and should find the 1800m to be no concern if we take a line through her unlucky effort in the Lowland Stakes over 2000m, where she was seen to be powering home. Zac Spain will retain the mount in the Schweppervescence Stakes.

On the other hand Reliable Dame, will be stepping out for the fourth time this preparation and looks perfectly placed to step to the 1800m after scoring an impressive last-to-first victory at her most recent for the Anthony Freedman stable. Reliable Dame will need luck from the barrier draw (17) but is likely to go back and be running home strongly at the finish as she uses the Schweppervescence Stakes as her final lead-up to the A$500,000 Schweppes Oaks over 2000m two weeks from Saturday.
