Reliable Man 5Celebrations After Master Brewer Win

On a strong black type card at Newmarket on Saturday the Two-year-old Novice over 7 furlongs was won in fine style by Reliable Man’s son Master Brewer as he made up for a luckless run on debut at Newbury some two weeks earlier.

Trained by Michael Bell for The Fitzrovians 2 and Fair Salinia Ltd, Master Brewer sat behind the leaders early in the race and was asked for an effort at the furlong mark where he quickened nicely and went on for a comfortable two length win over the favourite Moyassar and Nathless.

Master Brewer is out of the Street Cry mare Quenching who was a minor winner over 1800m in France. Master Brewer’s second dam Sundrop (Sunday Silence) was a high class racemare, winning a Group 3 at Churchill Downs and Epsom and recording Group 1 placings in the Newmarket One Thousand Guineas and Ascot Fillies Mile.

Reliable Man is making a strong start to his stud career in both hemispheres with his southern contingent including Main Stage, Sully, Belle du Nord, Kapoor, Gris Dame, Czechoslovakia, Jolly Honour, Ombudsman, Greenspan, Miss Dusty, Reliabelle, Reliable Dame, Slow Hands, White Shield and exciting two-year-old Reevederci.

Reliable Man returns to New Zealand in the upcoming weeks for his sixth southern hemisphere season and will stand for $17,500 + GST.
