LiftReliable Man Two-Year-Old to “Lift” at Flemington

Darren Weir’s Reliable Man two-year-old Lift (ex Super Nanny) will have his second career start tomorrow at Flemington when he takes on the A$130,000 Byerley Handicap over 1800m. The A$280,000 yearling purchase had his first start at Ballarat on 24 June, running home strongly from near the rear to finish a close second to British Medium over 1600m and the wide expanses of Flemington and a step to 1800m can only heighten his chances come Saturday.

Lift will be ridden by Ben Allen and is currently listed on the fourth line of betting at $5.

Lift is a half-brother to the smart Role Model who finished third in the Matamata Breeder’s Stakes Gr.2 behind Recite and Bounding, before finishing second in the Wellington Guineas Gr.2 as a three-year-old. Role Model was sold to Australian interests after the Wellington Guineas and continued her racing from the stable of Gai Waterhouse where she was a winner at Randwick and finished second (to Zanbagh) in the Keith Nolan Classic Gr.3.

Now at stud, Role Model has produced a Pierro filly and is currently infoal to Star Witness, while Lift’s dam Super Nanny has a rising yearling by Reliable Man, and is infoal again to Reliable Man.
