Reliable Man 7Nobu Ready for Step Up to 1500m

Chris Waller’s two-year-old Nobu (Reliable Man) looks well placed to take the step to 1500m when he contests the A$100,000 Owners Recognition Raceday over 1500m at Rosehill tomorrow.

Nobu has made good progress in his two starts to date, running a good sixth on debut over 1250m at Canterbury, before running on well over 1400m at his most recent start at Randwick. Nobu looks a genuine staying type being out of the Prized mare Royal Prize, making him a half-brother to the Group winners Saavoya (Savabeel) and Duchess Kate (Savabeel), while his second dam Eva Grace (Vice Regal) won 11 races including an Avondale Cup Gr.1.

Nobu meets a strong race tomorrow with seven winners in the race and some promising types in Thinkin’ Big, Inherit, Single Story, Salsa Man, Laburnum, and Aliferous. Nobu is on the third line of betting at $5.50 on the NZ TAB and will have the services of leading hoop Kerrin McEvoy at Rosehill.
