Trusty Lad 2Trusty Lad Looks Promising Stayer

Reliable Man colt Trusty Lad looked a stayer with good potential when he finished strongly to win the first at Doomben on Saturday over 1630m for Matt Kropp and James Orman.

The grey three-year-old was a $180,000 purchase at the 2017 Ready to Run Sale by his Toowoomba trainer Matt Kropp who remarked, "We got him at the second lot of the Karaka Sales and it looks like being a good buy. He is obviously still learning but he shows potential and we are looking forward to him getting out over more ground."

Top hoop James Orman continued his good recent form with a well-timed run to get Trusty Lad home in the last stride. “I reckon he might be even a bit better with the ear muffs off. It was a strong effort today,” Orman said.

Trusty Lad is out of the Anabaa mare Miss Juventus and has a two-year-old full sister who was purchased by David & Emmalee Browne at Karaka in January, while the mare has a yearling filly by Redwood and is currently infoal to Tarzino
