Fly to the Moon Steps Up in Grade10 Aug 2018
Reliable Man mare Fly to the Moon will look to make it back to back victories when she steps up to Rating 65 grade in the final race at Counties tomorrow. An impressive winner at Matamata at her most recent start for Michael Moroney & Pam Gerard, Fly to the Moon has only had three starts in her career to date, resulting in a win and a close second and one unplaced effort at Te Teko on a tricky surface.
Shafiq Rusof will take the ride again on Saturday and the mare should have every opportunity to position up behind the leaders from the coveted one barrier for the visiting jockey as they did when combining for their win at Matamata; in the same vein of form she looks well capable of making the step to the next grade.
Fly to the Moon is raced by her breeders Paul Moroney, Patrick Bennett & David Dimmock and is out of the Hawk Wing mare Fly Silca Fly, a daughter of the unraced Danehill mare Nevis Peak and closely related to Storm Cat, Royal Academy, One World, Langoustine, and company.
