Double Strike For Faltaat

Faltaat struck twice at the weekend with his promising daughter Twist Again opening the scoring when she was successful at Te Rapa on Saturday. Westbury Stud's Gr 1 stallion then made his presence felt at the Gore meeting yesterday when El Pzaaz continued her excellent run of form with victory over 2000 metres.

The lightly-tried Twist Again showed she had a bright future with a strong performance to break her maiden over 1600 metres. The three-year-old had weighed in at three of her previous five starts for trainer Stephen McKee who may now look for upcoming black-type opportunities for the grand-daughter of the dual Gr 2 winner Sounds Like Fun.

El Pzaaz was a winner from co-breeder Donna Logan's northern stable and has been in excellent form since transferring to Mac Henry's quarters. The well-related mare  - she is a half-sister to four-time Gr 2 winner El Duce and the stakes-winner El Perez - now has two wins and two seconds from her five southern starts.
