Faltaat Makes Te Rapa Presence Felt

Bibulous, a lightly-tried son of Westbury Stud's Faltaat, took his record to three wins and six placings from just 11 appearances when he was successful at Te Rapa yesterday. He came with his customary late finish to score over 1400 metres and further his excellent winning ratio for trainer Bruce Wallace.

Raced by his breeders Peter and Philip Vela, the five-year-old is out of the dual stakes-winning Success Express mare Battocchi (Matriarch Stakes, Ballarat Cup) who is a grand-daughter of the New Zealand Oaks winner Devante.

Westbury will present a regally-bred daughter of Faltaat during the upcoming Premier Sale at Karaka next month. Lot 120 is a sister to the outstanding mare Bellini Rose (Gr 2 Blazer Stakes) from the Gr 1 family of champion mare Ethereal (Melbourne Cup, Caulfield Cup, BMW Stakes, Queensland Oaks).

During the Select Sale, the Karaka farm will offer a Faltaat colt (Lot 525) from the family of Gr 1 NZ 2000 Guineas winner Clean Sweep and a filly (Lot 525) out of stakes winner and Gr 1 performer Tui Song. Another daughter (Lot 869) is from Beach Road, a sister to NZ Derby runner-up Mount Street and a half-sister to Faltaat's triple Gr 1 winner Sedecrem (Easter Handicap, Waikato Draught Sprint - twice).

Westbury's Festival Sale consignment will further feature a filly (Lot 1331) by the Mr Prospector stallion from a daughter of dual Gr 3 winner Sustaad (Gold Trail, Lowland Stakes).
