Over the years the Westbury brand has developed a fine rapport with both local and international purchasers, a fact we take great pride in and one we don’t take lightly.
The success of Westbury Stud sale graduates over the past two seasons has been extremely pleasing, and we are happy that this season has kicked off in similar fashion with the two-year-old filly Ruud Awakening (Bernardini x Dawn Almighty) claiming honours in New Zealand's richest race, the RL Karaka Million, the Group 1 Diamond Stakes and the Listed Wellesley Stakes, while fellow Westbury graduate Precious Sophia completed the quinella in the Trentham feature.
Further to that, we have seen another Westbury Stud graduate in Mosse (O'Reilly x Golden Sparkle) who has established himself as one of the most promising sprinters in New Zealand following an emphatic victory in the 2012 Group 3 Aussie Butcher Concorde Handicap at Ellerslie this season, while Petty Cury (Not a ingle Doubt x Bahira) has also stamped her self in the top echelon of sprinters winning the Group 3 Darley Plate at Ellerslie over Auckland Cup week.
Last season alone three individual Westbury Stud sold juveniles recorded stakes victories in Australia of which included Listed MRC Blue Diamond Preview winner The Travelling Man (Mossman x Gypsy Jewels), Listed SAJC Oaklands Plate winner Donna Cattiva (Captain Rio x Nishaani), and Listed BRC Darello Stakes winner Destruction (Fastnet Rock x Storm Signal), while a further stakes placed performers included Later Gator, About Square & Niobe.
Every year we strive to produce superior thoroughbreds which can prove competitive at the highest levels possible and it is the dedication of our staff and support team which allows us to provide such quality horses.
