Joining Westbury Stud in 2009, Postponed is a high class sire in the making - a point evidenced by the fact that he produced two Group 1 winners, a Group 2 winner, and three Listed winners from just his first crop of 49 foals!
From his first crop Postponed produced to elite performers in Dorabella and Pasta Post. Dorabella took out the crown jewel for the 3YO fillies when landing the Group 1 NZ 1000 Guineas and added to her Group 1 haul when defeating Seachange in the Captain Cook Stakes at Trentham. Past Post won 8 of his first 10 starts including the Easter Handicap Gr.1 over 1600m and the City of Auckland Cup Gr.2 over 2400m.
A Group 2 winner in the USA and by The Preakness Stakes winner Summer Squall, Postponed hails from one of the great pedigrees in the thoroughbred world, descending from the multiple Group 2 winner Telingua (the dam of the almighty Storm Cat) and in turn a half sister to the Breeder's Cup Mile winner and high class sire Royal Academy.
Over the past two seasons Postponed has enjoyed plenty of success on the track, particularly from his juvenile stock that have performing at stakes level, and in-turn, carrying that form through to their three-year-old preparations.
Following a stakes placing in the Champagne Stakes as a two-year-old, Duckworth Lewis went on to win the Group 3 Te Hana Sparkling Stakes as well as the Listed Champion Stakes Prelude. Fellow stakes placed two-year-old Vittoria has also carried through her form having run second in the Listed NZB Insurance Stakes and fourth in the Group 1 VRC Oaks. The Group 3 placed Poste Restante, also a winner at 2, has produced some stunning efforts in her 3YO career including a third in the Group 3 Rough Habit Plate in Brisbane, and a fourth in the Group 1 NZ Oaks.
One of the most consistent thoroughbreds around, Postmans Daughter, claimed honours in the Group 2 Counties Cup while adding placings in the Group 1 Thorndon Mile and Group 1 Easter Handicap to her resume.
In the 2010-11 season, Postponed was dubbed New Zealand's top sire of two-year-olds by winners, beating the likes of Savabeel, O'Reilly, Pins and Darci Brahma.
