Stud Manager Required
One of New Zealand's most progressive stud farms are seeking an experienced, conscientious, and motivated stud manager to oversee and direct the day-to-day routines relating to the management of a number of our stock to the highest of industry standards.
The successful applicant would require,
- No less than eight years of experience working in the stud industry and would be required to provide a full work history, accompanied by references (both past and recent).
- A sound knowledge and experience in the day-to-day handling, feeding, and caring of foals, yearlings, broodmares, and stallions.
- A sound knowledge of all systems and routines applicable to a quality thoroughbred operation.
- Good communication skills with staff, management, and the general public.
- Efficient recording and reporting methods are required within the role.
- A clean and well-presented appearance in the course of their duties.
- A current driver's licence - with HT licence would also be advantageous.

Stable Hands / Stud Grooms

Westbury Stud is one of New Zealand’s leading thoroughbred studs and each season we prepare and market over 100 yearlings for sale. We run a large operation and are dedicated to raising high quality racehorses and require motivated people to join the team.
We are currently looking for full time employees at both our Matamata and Karaka properties to assist with Broodmares, Weanlings, and Yearlings. The work is varied, especially in the breeding season which offers the successful applicants the opportunity to gain experience in different roles.
The successful applicants will need,
- Confidence around horses, previous experience with weanlings and yearlings would be an advantage.
- NZ residency/Valid NZ Work Visa.
- English speaking.
- Most of all, a passion for the thoroughbred industry.

Yearling Stud Groom

We are seeking two experienced stud grooms to join a progressive and motivated team in the preparation of our yearlings for the Magic Millions National Yearling Sale at the Gold Coast, as well as being involved in all aspects of stud life including the handling of our foals and general stud duties.
The successful applicants need to have previous experience with thoroughbreds and must be able to work in a team environment as we strive to achieve the best practice in all sectors of our operation.
