FULL TIME PERMANENT STALLION GROOM REQUIRED

Westbury Stud (Karaka farm) is currently looking for a full time, permanent stallion groom.  To be eligible, you must have experience working with stallions and preferably mares and foals.  Also, you need to be hard working and a team player.

SEASONAL YEARLING STAFF

We are currently seeking expressions of interest for reliable, hard-working, and experienced people to assist with the preparation of our yearlings for the 2014 Karaka Yearlings Sales.

You will need to be a team player, dedicated and committed to the education and presentation of our yearling consignment for the National Yearling Sales at Karaka in January/February.

Day-to-day duties include feeding, grooming, leading and the general routine care of the yearlings.  In addition, you may be required to complete other general maintenance work from time-to-time as directed by the Yearling Manager. We have positions available at both of our farms - located at Westbury Karaka (Auckland) and Westbury Waikato (Matamata) - starting in September through until the completion of the sales in February.

Salaries will be commensurate with the respective ability and experience of the applicants concerned and accommodation may be available on the property depending on individual requirements.

SEASONAL BREEDING STAFF

We are currently seeking expressions of interest for reliable, hard-working, and experienced people to assist with the day-to-day duties involved with the breeding side of the operation at Westbury Stud (Karaka and Matamata).  You will work with broodmares, stallions, and foals during the 2013 Breeding Season.

You will need to be a team player, dedicated and committed towards caring for stallions, mares and foals as they are prepared for service and covered by Westbury Stud stallions. Previous experience and knowledge of the breeding routines would be beneficial, while general horse husbandry skills are considered an important prerequisite. 

Day-to-day duties include feeding, checking  and the general routine care of the breeding stock. In addition, you may be required to complete other general maintenance work from time-to-time as directed by your manager.

We have positions available at both of our farms - located at Westbury Karaka (Auckland) and Westbury Waikato (Matamata) - starting in August through until the completion of the breeding season in December.  Please note that our Westbury Waikato farm does not have stallions.
