Peaceful to Embark on Australian Venture11 Sep 2018
Savabeel filly Peaceful resumed as a three-year-old at Wanganui on Saturday and could not have been more impressive as she downed a talented field of fillies in the Listed O’Leary Fillies Stakes and may well head to Australia on Spring campaign.
The Murray Baker/Andrew Forsman trained filly showed well above ability at two when she had five starts for a win in the Listed ARC Futurity Stakes and recorded three further placings. The O’Leary Fillies Stakes attracted a strong field on Saturday with five stakes performers facing the starter, and from barrier one, Matt Cameron allowed Peaceful to settle back in fifth behind the early speed and the filly was strong through the line to score by half a length and having her opposition well covered.
Peaceful will take good improvement from Saturday’s outing and the way she finished the race off suggest she will have no trouble going 1400-1600m.
Bred by Gerry Harvey, Peaceful is out of the Mossman mare Paloma, a half-sister to Group 3 winner Chivalry and from the family of World Peace, Light Up the World, Presenting, Thorn Park, Bentley Biscuit, Snitzel Spirit, Landlocked, Military Grace, Christmas Tree, Euphoria, Jewel in the Crown, and Denise’s Joy.
Paloma has a full brother (by Savabeel) to Peaceful heading to Karaka in January and has returned to Savabeel recently, while her two-year-old colt by El Roca is with Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott at Randwick, and has shown good ability in his initial education with the stable.« Back
