PeacefulPeaceful to Make Australian Debut

Quality three-year-old and dual stakes winner Peaceful will make her Australian debut on Sunday when she steps out in the Schweppes Thousand Guineas Prelude over 1400m at Caulfield. The Savabeel filly meets a Group 1 quality field for her first assignment with El Dorado Dreaming, Thrillster, Smart Melody, Qafila, Satin Slipper, Spanish Whisper, Eawase, and company all down to contest the A$200,000 Group 2 for the three-year-old fillies.

Peaceful won the Listed ARC Futurity Stakes as a two-year-old and made it back to back stakes victories when she returned in the O’Leary Fillies Stakes three weeks ago before heading to Melbourne. Trained by Murray Baker & Andrew Forsman, the Gerry Harvey bred filly carries the colours of prominent owner Lib Petagna’s JML Bloodstock Ltd and has pleased her connections since arriving in Melbourne with Baker saying, “She’s been going very well since she travelled over to Melbourne, I’m very pleased with her,”.

“She has to show that she can measure up against this sort of class in Melbourne, but she’s been doing very well and deserves her chance.”

Champion Kiwi ex-pat James McDonald will take the mount on Peaceful on Sunday, while the filly holds nominations for the One Thousand Guineas Gr.1 and the Kennedy Oaks Gr.1.

Peaceful has a full brother heading to the 2019 Karaka Sales and her dam Paloma has been covered again by Savabeel.
