Tamarack ATamarack Looking for Back-to-Back Wins

The Joe Pride trained Tamarack will head to Rosehill on Saturday looking to make it back to back victories when he contests the A$120,000 Turner Freeman Handicap over 2400m.

Tamarack was a strong winner at Warwick Farm over the same trip ten days ago when recording his fourth victory for owners F W Cook, Mrs C M Cook, P B Newsom, A N Wales, A M Whitehouse, A N Mcmaster, Mrs E A Mcmaster, R D Turner, R A Caldwell, T D F Hughes, Ms B A Mcloughlin, L J Gray, C T H Cropper & Proven Thoroughbreds and the step up to Saturday class should hold no fears for the son of Redwood having competed well here during his last preparation.

Tamarack is out of the Redoute’s Choice mare Our Squeezer, a half-sister to ATC Oaks winner and current NZ Horse of the Year Bonneval, while his grand-dam Imposingly (by Zabeel) is a three-quarter sister to St Reims and Champagne.

Part-owners Peter Newsom, Mac Whitehouse, and Tony Wales bred Tamarack who was a $90,000 yearling purchase for Jamie Walter’s Proven Thoroughbreds. Upon returning to Sydney the three breeders were offered the opportunity to buy back into the colt and are sharing in the upside of his good form. To date Tamarack has had four wins and 8 placings for A$184,000 in stakes and looks to have a bright future in the staying ranks in Sydney.

Our Squeezer has a 3YO I Am Invincible filly with Darren Weir, a two-year-old Declaration of War filly, an Exopshere yearling colt, a Pierro colt foal at foot and has been served by So You Think in 2018.
