Miss FedererMiss Federer Makes it Number Ten for Swiss Ace

The smart two-year-old Miss Federer provided her sire Swiss Ace with his tenth individual stakes winner in Saturday’s Listed Welcome Stakes at Riccarton and continued the great run of form by the Swiss Ace progeny of late.

Miss Federer will always hold a special place in the training career of Andrew Carston as not only did Carston select the filly as a yearling (for just $10,000) at Karaka but she provided the young trainer with his first black type winner as a trainer. Miss Federer finished third on debut at Riccarton just over a month ago and has done a good job to win each of her two starts since on the track. Miss Federer is likely to head to the spelling paddock now before a decision will be made towards her immediate future.

By Swiss Ace from Halobelle, Miss Federer was bred by Greg Tomlinson’s Nearco Stud and is a full sister to the stakes placed Starlight Angel, while her dam Halobelle was the winner of the Listed Eclipse Stakes and the Gore Guineas in the South Island.

In recent weeks Swiss Ace has been represented by Little Giant, Ugly Warrior, Top Prospect, Miss Labasa, Hingus Rose, Swisswatch, Rose Bowl, and Kiss My Swiss.
