Ugly Warrior VHUgly Warrior to Continue on Winning Way

Swiss Ace gelding Ugly Warrior will look to continue on his winning way when he contests the HK$1,950,000 Nathan Handicap for the Class 2 performers. Ugly Warrior has made a huge impression in Hong Kong winning five of his six career starts and accumulating stakes of HK$4,746,300 to date.

Trained by Me Tsui, Ugly Warrior has a near perfect record with his only defeat coming at the hands of Champion Griffin Pick Number One whom he turned the tables on at his most recent start when winning in a fresh state in the Tsuen Lok Handicap running a very smart 1:08.35 for the 1200m. Vincent Ho has been aboard Ugly Warrior in all but two of his races and continues his association with the good looking chestnut on Sunday.

Bred by Gerry Harvey, Ugly Warrior is out of Ugly Betty, making him a full brother to the stakes winner and Group 1 placed Huka Eagle. Ugly Warrior was a $150,000 yearling at Karaka and was resold through the 2016 Ready to Run Sale for $210,000. Ugly Betty has a two-year-old sister (by Swiss Ace), a yearling half-brother by El Roca, and has returned a positive test to Swiss Ace again this year.
