Comeback in Fine Form7 Dec 2018
Team Rogerson will line up the talented four-year-old Comeback (Makfi) in tomorrow’s $30,000 JR Webb & Son Handicap over 1200m with the steadier of 60.5kg and a strong form race.
Comeback has won three times and furnished an impressive record to date, finishing further back than fifth just once in his 10-start career when severely hampered at Te Rapa two starts back. Comeback bounced back from this run with a gutsy win at Rotorua at his last start and the easing of the track over the past week will prove to be no hindrance for the gelding.
The impost of 60.5kg will be reduced to 59.5kg through the allowance for stable apprentice Ryan Elliott but his task has not been made any easier drawing 11 of 13 in the 1200m sprint, but his consistency suggests he will be in the race for a long way despite the hurdles he has to overcome.
By Makfi from the stakes placed Danzero mare Intelligentsia, Comeback is raced by his breeder Gerry Harvey and comes from the family of Keeninsky, So Keen, So Let’s, and Cosmic Cube and looks to have a bright future ahead of him.
