Honesty the Best Policy at Te Rapa14 Dec 2018
The Team Rogerson trained Honesty looks well overdue for a win after some excellent efforts of late without much luck when she contests the $30,000 Team Wealleans Premier over 1400m at Te Rapa on Saturday.
The daughter of Postponed flashed home two starts back to finish second to Savette at Rotorua, and backed that up with another huge run at Te Rapa on 10 November behind Rondinella, coming from last on the turn and missed by the barest of margins. A similar performance on Saturday will see her very hard to beat and will set her up for some of the better races over the Christmas period.
A very consistent mare Honesty has only failed to finish in the first five on one occasion and each of her three runs this preparation have been superb. Central Districts jockey Johnathan Parkes will take the mount on Saturday with regular rider Ryan Elliott heading to Wanganui on the weekend.
Honesty is raced by her breeder Gerry Harvey and is out of the Mossman mare Requiem Moss, coming from the family of Shamekha who won three Group 1 races including the TJ Smith Stakes, All Aged Stakes and Coolmore Classic, while Peter Pan Stakes winner and successful sire Brave Warrior is also close up in the family.
