Hypnos 1Hypnos Draws Favourably in Uncle Remus Stakes

The inaugural running of the Uncle Remus Stakes see promising 3YO Hypnos (Reliable Man) take on the much talked about Dawn Patrol (and others) on Wednesday as they prepare for feature racing in January.

Hypnos has been a work in progress for Cambridge trainers Roger James and Robert Wellwood, but there were certainly some smiles after the horse relaxed early and worked home well in the Bonecrusher Stakes Gr.3 at his last start. Ryan Elliott had no choice but to take the horse back from his outside draw and he was giving the leaders a conservative 12 lengths at the 600m mark, yet was only beaten 3 lengths at the post.

Out of the Elusive Quality mare Quality Dream, Hypnos is raced by Wellington couple Ron and Fran Dixon who have been long time clients of the Roger James stable, and safely through the Uncle Remus on Wednesday it would appear the Dixon’s have another nice three-year-old to pin their hopes on over the remainder of the summer.

The Uncle Remus Stakes has drawn an excellent field for its first running with the likes of Lincoln Falls, In a Twinkling, Vernanme, Tiger Silk, and She’s a Goddess also notable acceptors.
