Richardson Purchases Top Westbury Lot5 Feb 2019
The Karaka Sales have ended for another year and the top priced Lot from the farm was the Exosphere filly from Twenty Angels, who was sold for $350,000 to the bid of Matamata trainer Graham Richardson. An attractive type by first season sire Exosphere, the filly came from the famous “Belle family” and is out of a half-sister to the top sprinter Perfectly Ready.
Another highlight for the team was providing the top priced Lot in Book 2 with the Reliable Man colt from Quality Dream knocked down to Brian Jenkins for $270,000. A full brother to current star Hypnos, the colt was listed as Lot 872 and was the subject of a spirited bidding duel between Jenkins and the underbidder.
Team Rogerson made two significant purchases from the Westbury draft, securing the Tavistock half-brother to the promising three-year-old More Wonder for $240,000, while 30 minutes earlier they bought the Zoustar-Vedex colt for an identical amount. The Tavistock colt was a mid-November foal but looked sure to develop into an impressive racehorse, by which time his half-brother should have developed an impressive race record.« Back
