Grinzinger Star Looking for Back to Back Wins18 Apr 2019
The Reliable Man three-year-old Grinzinger Star will be looking to make it back to back victories at Caulfield when he contests the A$75,000 Bill Collins Handicap over 2000m on Saturday.
The stakes placed gelding has won twice and been placed four times from eight starts, but it was his most recent effort to get up and nail the highly talented Mr Quickie who had won seven races in succession which marked his arrival as a horse to follow.
Trained by Danny O’Brien, Grinzinger Star was given a lovely ride by Linda Meech at Caulfield and the prominent jocket was set to be reunited with the gelding on Saturday until she had a fall midweek and has a suspected broken collarbone, with a replacement rider yet to be named.
Grinzinger Star faces a strong field at Caulfield but comes into the race with a comfortable weight of 54.5kg and his performance here is likely to provide Danny O’Brien with the likely path for his charge in the months ahead.« Back
