Little Giant Freshened for Chairman’s Sprint Prize on Sunday26 Apr 2019
Don’t be surprised if Swiss gelding Little Giant doesn’t run a cheeky race in Sunday’s HK$16,000,000 Group 1 Chairman’s Sprint Prize over 1200m.
The David Hall trained gelding has been freshened since last racing in mid-February. His effort to finish a close fourth in the Hong Kong International Sprint in December suggests that he is right up to the class, but Sunday’s race will be no ‘walk in the park’ with Australia’s leading sprinter Santa Ana Lane travelling to Hong Kong this week with Group 1 winning mare Viddora, Japanese visitor Nac Venus, and New Zealand’s dual Telegraph Handicap winner Enzo’s Lad also in Hong Kong for the race.
The cream of the local sprinters will all be lining up too with the likes of Mr Stunning, Beat the Clock, and Ping Wu Spark matching off for the colossal stake on offer and giving local stable a strong chance in the race. Vincent Ho has retained the ride on Little Giant after he was unplaced over 1400m behind Beauty Generation in the Silver Jubilee Cup.
Little Giant is by Swiss Ace from the More Than Ready mare Princess Carolina, making him a full brother to the stakes winner Top Prospect and a half-brother to the Group 2 placed Charlestown; while his dam is a full sister to Readyforcatherine, dam of Group 1 winner Atlante.« Back
