Salt Bay Enjoying the Winning Taste3 May 2019
The Michael Moroney/Pam Gerard trained Salt Bay (Redwood) will be looking to make it a hat-trick of wins when she lines up in the $30,000 BGP – Thanks for the Support Handicap at Te Rapa on Saturday. A $25,000 yearling purchase by Paul Moroney from Westbury Stud, Salt Bay has won 3 of her past 5 starts and her last two in succession for owners Wayne Boyd & Ballymore Stables NZ Ltd and has made rapid improvement this preparation after always looking to have ability from the outset.
A sister to the Group 2 placed Swampland, Salt Bay is out of the Group placed Marsh Harbour (Volksraad) and has a full brother heading to Karaka in January. Another win by Salt Bay would continue a fantastic run for her sire Redwood who has been represented by a host of winners of late including stakes winner Rock on Wood, Tamarack, Cedar Grande, and Grant while the likes of Rosewood, Red Sierra, Ever So Clever, Ludus, and Dashper have all hinted that winning turns are just around the corner.« Back
