Ho Ho Khan Big Chance in Group 3 Queen Mother Cup at Sha Tin3 May 2019
The Makfi entire Ho Ho Khan looks perfectly primed for the Queen Mother Memorial Cup Gr.3 as he steps to 2400m for the first time in his career on Sunday at Sha Tin. The David Hall trained stallion has been a model of consistency this preparation and his recent runs against Hong Kong’s best four-year-olds suggests he is well up to winning Sunday’s feature.
Bred by Gerry Harvey, Ho Ho Khan (ex China Choice) raced as Mulanchi in New Zealand from the stable of Tony Pike and has won on three occasions since being sold to Hong Kong with strong efforts for fifth in the Hong Kong Derby over 2000m, and an excellent third at his last start in the Harlech Handicap behind Dark Dream and Insayshable, again over 2000m. Ho Ho Khan is a close relation to ATC Oaks winner Royal Descent and judging by his strong finishes over 2000m, he should have no trouble with the added distance. Inform rider Vincent Ho will continue his association with Ho Ho Khan again tomorrow after riding the horse in each of his three wins and being aboard in his most recent effort for third.
China Choice, the dam of Ho Ho Khan, is by Encosta de Lago from Mulan Princess and has a very nice colt by Telperion heading to the 2020 National Yearling Sale at Karaka.« Back
