Rosewood Makes Her Return11 May 2019
The very talented Redwood mare Rosewood makes her return to the track this weekend when she steps out in the $35,000 Landmark Homes Open over 1200m at New Plymouth. Trained by part-owner Marilyn Paewai, Rosewood was in outstanding form last winter and hinted that she is primed for a bold showing on Saturday after winning a trial impressively ten days ago.
The winner of 9 races and just shy of $200,000 in stakes, Rosewood will be very hard to beat if the rain arrives and she has top hoop Rosie Myers aboard for her first up outing.
One of the hardest for Rosewood to beat could well be the Gerry Harvey bred/owned Comeback (Makfi) who has won his past three starts in succession and has the services of Johnathan Parkes on Saturday. Comeback is another with an impressive record with six wins from 20 starts and has race fitness on his side in comparison to a number of his better performed rivals who are in a fresh state - he looks a progressive horse in the making for the Rogerson stable.« Back
