Tamarack ATamarack in Good Form for Mayors Cup

Last start winner Tamarack (by Redwood) will be looking to make it two from two this preparation when he steps out in the 2000 metre Listed Lord Mayors Cup tomorrow at Rosehill Gardens, his first tilt at a black-type race.

Bred in New Zealand by Peter Newsom, Tony Wales and Mac Whitehouse who have retained an interest in the gelding, the son of Redwood was sold to Proven Thoroughbreds at the 2015 Karaka Yearling Sales Series for $90,000 and was transferred to Warwick Farm to join Joseph Pride’s stable. Tamarack has since had 25 starts and winning six races to date he has accumulated over A$300,000 in earnings.

Regular rider Jay Ford has been engaged for tomorrow’s run and after winning at 1500m last start the extra distance this trip should suit him nicely having performed successfully over this distance on numerous occasions.
