RunfinnrunRunfinnrun Back at Kranji

Reliable Man three-year-old Runfinnrun is scheduled to run tonight at Kranji in the S$75,000 Novice Plate for Stephen Gray, and a repeat of his winning debut performance will see him very hard to beat over the 1400m.

A $140,000 Ready to Run purchase by his trainer, Runfinnrun created a huge impression when winning on debut over 1200m on the 7 April but he was somewhat disappointing when well beaten second up over 1400m. The gelding has been given time to get over his below par performance and comes into tonight‘s race not having raced for 40 days and will be looking to reproduce the ability he demonstrated at his first start.

Bred by the Karaka Agistment Centre, Runfinnrun is out of the Group 2 placed The Darling One (Lonhro) and comes from the family of quality Sydney sprinter Rain Affair. Runfinnrun is the first foal from The Darling One, while her second foal is this season’s smart two-year-old Wayupinthesky (Snitzel) from the Peter & Paul Snowden who was a A$400,000 yearling in Sydney - the mare has since produced a weanling filly by Dundeel.

Runfinnrun drew wide in tonight’s race, coming up with barrier 8 of 10, but he does have the services of inform jockey Ben Thompson and is likely to settle back - as he did when winning at his debut – which would negate the wide gate.
